Detailed description of Painesville Country Club
Painesville Country Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Painesville, Ohio.
Painesville Country Club's first nine holes for play in June of 1928. The back nine and clubhouse were added in the early thirties. In the tradition of older courses, the layout at Painesville was discovered as much as designed under the direction of Mr. Lamoran, the professional at Kirtland Country Club.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 5,956 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,435 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 521 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 14, a par-3 that plays to 109 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, a 386 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 14, a 109 yard par-3.
The front nine is open and forgiving. The back is tight and will eat penalize if you stray from the fairway. The course has 3 par 3's over 200 yards. But you can make up some shots on the nice long, but manageable par 5's.

The course is interesting. Back 9, though mature, was put in long after the original front 9. Back 9 is more hilly and tighter. Course has 5 par 5s and 6 par 3s which I find interesting. The par 3s are all different. #3 and #11 would rank, in my opinion as amongst the toughest in the area. Conditions are always top notch. Although the menu in the club house is limited, hot dogs are terrific. Back 9 is undergoing some renovations which should enhance the character of the course. You will enjoy playing here.

Best fairways and greens I have played all year (have played 21 different courses since March 2015). Tough course but the condition was excellent. Will play again.
